It’s all about self- care

Hello Dears,

Today we are going to touch up on self-care.

Why is it so hard for us women to put ourselves first? I hear you. You have no time, the kids are always under your feet and your job is too demanding. Then we mustn’t forget our partners who take up the rest of our time.

When are we ever meant to find time when they use it all up?

Well today I didn’t want to get at you for not putting more self care into your planner. I know you would do more if you had the time. So I thought I would come at you from another angle. Maybe get you thinking about it differently.

Journaling time

I’m now going to ask you to take out that wonderful journal of yours. In there I would like you to answer a few questions for me please.

All of these questions are are taken from the LimeTreeFruits.com  pintables which are over on the members area. You should really go a check them out, they are the best.

Self-Care LTF

Now write down

– 3 things that you really love doing.

– How often do you get to do these things?

– If you had all the time in the world how often would you like to do them?

– If you really put your mind to it, how can you  find time to do more of your 3 favourite things?

These questions will get you thinking. Maybe asking yourself why you ever stopped doing your favourite things.

I just had to add my favourite music into this post “The Sound of Music”

I just love the energy in this film. Do you see how they are all having fun even thou they are scared of the storm. And she’s just loving it that they are in bed with her.

Take some of this energy and think about what makes you happy. Is it the rain drops on roses or even schnitzel with noodles?

What ever makes you happy you should plan more into your day, your week or weekends.

Do you remember what happens next? Well, she adds more fun things into their lives. She adds sewing clothes for them, singing in the street, climbing up trees and laughing.  Do you really think that these fun things were the 7 children’s ideas. No, they were all hers.

She didn’t care. She practised Self-Care.

I challenge you to do the same.

What are you going to add as self-care into your day.

Will I be seeing those pictures of you climbing trees?

What ever you decide to please leave a comment below. Or come one over to Facebook and post a picture of you doing your favourite things.

Happy Journaling

Your Susan

It’s all about self- care — 4 Comments

  1. Thanks for this timely post! I’ve been thinking about this recently. I spend a lot of my time either hanging out with friends, family, or my dog. I just got back from a 4 day weekend camping at the beach. From that trip, I realize that I need add more ME time to my schedule. Not just time I hang out at the house, but planned trips where I travel to a new place solo. I plan on adding this to my calendar either quarterly or one big trip a year.

I recently started working full-time in my business, and stopped exercising. So, for a daily self-care task, I need to add exercise since it’s so important to me.

Thanks for this post — it’s a great reminder of what it’s important.

    • Jennifer, how’s the planning going? Have you added a holiday alone into your planner? What about your daily exercising how is that coming along?

  2. Great post! I definitely needed this. If I’m not doing one thing, I’m doing another! (Not for myself, haha!) I’m either working, with the kids, cleaning, cooking, etc… You know how it is! Sometimes I’m literally shocked that I couldn’t find 15 minutes in my whole day to do something just for myself, lol! Going to work on that list today! Thanks for posting this 🙂

    Best,
    Amber

    • I do know how you feel Amber. Business, family, friends all come before we do. Just yesterday I wish I would have done more for myself and said No. That only means that I now know not to do that again and do more of what is best for me. I would have felt much better by doing my nails 🙂
